Ali Rashid Al Jarwan - CEO

On 4th March 2017 Al-Jarwan joined Dragon Oil as CEO and MD Exploration & Production. He has over 3 decades of leadership and technical experience in E&P.

Al-Jarwan earned a B.Sc. degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Tulsa, Oklahoma; MBA from the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland; and a degree in General Management from the Cranfield School of Management in the UK.

Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan has been Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) since June 2006. ADMA-OPCO is a major producer of crude oil and gas from the offshore areas of Abu Dhabi and operates two major fields: Umm Shaif and Zakum, which are considered to be among the world’s largest fields.

Al-Jarwan has received several recognition awards, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) ‘Regional Service Award’ in 1992, the distinguished SPE membership in 1999 and SPE/AIME (American Mining, Metallurgical and Petroleum Engineers) honorary membership in 2013. He has also chaired several international conferences such as GEO in 2002, the 8th HSE International Conference in 2006 and ADIPEC 2006, 2008 and 2012.


Faisal Rabee Al Awadhi - Assistant CEO

Faisal is the Assistant CEO at Dragon Oil. He has a long and successful career in the energy sector, having worked as a consultant to international companies in Libya, Iraq and Kazakhstan. Faisal served as the Director of Demand Management of Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, after which he joined Dragon Oil as General Manager (Turkmenistan). In the mid-1990s, he set up Gulf Petroleum in south Sudan. Prior to that, he worked for the ANDOC Group of Companies as the Production Operation Manager in ADMA-OPCO in charge of giant oil fields Zakum and Umm Shaif.

Faisal started his career with Dubai Petroleum Company in the early 1970s, and was one of the first UAE Nationals to be sent to the USA by Dubai Petroleum Co. to study in the field of Petroleum Engineering.

He holds an HND from Brighton Polytechnic in Industrial Engineering, UK, a Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Tulsa University, Oklahoma, USA, and a Master’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering and Management from the University of Southern California, USA.


Mana Bin Qutami - Director of Corporate Services

Mana Bin Qutami, Director of Human Resources and Administration comes to us with over 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Sunderland in the United Kingdom.

He is responsible for implementing human resource management strategies that enable Dragon Oil to recruit, train, and retain a high performing and motivated workforce. He is also responsible for developing and implementing on-boarding, training and development, performance management, employee retention, benefits management and employee relations policies and strategies.

Mana first joined Dragon Oil as Joint Venture Accountant handling Tunisia, Iraq and Afghanistan projects, he has then worked as Head of Operations in the Purchasing Department, after which he has served in the HR Department as the Deputy HR Director before finally being assigned as HR Director. His career also includes experience of structured finance, merges and acquisitions from the banking sector.



Tayeb Huwair - Executive Director - Engineering & Projects, OPERATIONS

Mr. Tayeb Huwair: joined Dragon Oil on 21st May, 2017 as Executive Director Projects & Engineering based in Dubai. Tayeb holds a Bachelor’s degree from Tri State University, Indiana USA in Chemical Engineering. Tayeb comes to us with over 25 years of experience in Project Management, Project Interfaces, Discipline Engineering, Field Development Concepts, Business Planning, Screening and Ranking of Capital Investments and Operation. Before joining Dragon Oil, Mr. Huwair worked for ADMA-OPCO as Senior Vice President (Projectd & Engineering).
